From Site Assessment to Handoff

Every engagement begins with a comprehensive scope. Here's what's included in a Technology Innovations installation.

Site Assessment & Design

We conduct a site walkthrough to confirm camera placement, cable routing paths, mounting points, and network topology. Any changes to scope identified during this review are communicated before work begins.

Hardware Procurement & Staging

We source, order, receive, and inspect all hardware specified in the accepted proposal. Devices are staged and firmware-updated before arriving on-site. Defective-on-arrival items are replaced at no cost to the client.

Physical Installation

All camera mounting, bracket hardware, cable runs (surface or in-wall where accessible), weatherproofing at exterior penetrations, power and data termination, and rack assembly where applicable.

Configuration & Commissioning

Full setup of the UniFi OS environment: network segmentation (camera VLAN, business LAN, guest network), UniFi Protect recording schedules, motion detection zones, license plate recognition calibration, PTZ presets, and Starlink gateway integration. System tested and verified operational before handoff.

Client Training & Handoff

Live walkthrough covering: live camera view and playback, plate and face search, clip export, mobile app setup, and basic network health monitoring. A summary document with login credentials and key settings is provided at handoff.

Ongoing System Health & Support

All managed devices are enrolled under Essentials by default. Upgrade individual cameras to Advanced or Complete tiers for enhanced oversight.

Access Point (WiFi) Management

Managed WiFi for UniFi Access Points

The Managed Protect — Essentials plan is automatically extended to WiFi Access Points managed by your UniFi system. Coverage includes firmware health monitoring, RF performance review, channel and power optimization, client roaming configuration, and guest network policy management.

All proposals include 2 U6 Mesh Pro access points, making the standard WiFi management add-on $6/month. This covers hardware health and configuration only — it does not include monitoring of individual client device connections or application-layer traffic.

What's Monitored — and What's Not

Hardware Health Alerts — Included

Managed Services monitoring covers hardware-level health indicators: device offline/unreachable status, storage drive health and capacity thresholds, firmware availability, recording gaps caused by device errors, and network connectivity failures. These are platform-level system alerts generated by the UniFi infrastructure itself.

AI Detection & Motion Alerts — Not Monitored

AI-generated alerts — including person detection, vehicle detection, license plate recognition, facial recognition events, and custom motion zone triggers — are delivered directly to the client's UniFi Protect app. Technology Innovations does not monitor, respond to, or act on these operational security alerts. Under Advanced and Complete tiers, we configure and tune these settings, but operational use and response remains the client's responsibility.
